Volunteering

It’s that time of year again! The time of year when people want to be scared and we get to have tons of fun scaring them.
We had a blasty blast using our scare pro techniques last year and hanging out with our entertaining gang. This year will be super amazing. Our twisted brains have schemed up more nightmare plots and enhanced hellish conditions. We can’t reveal any details but its definitely more frightening. I know you don’t want to miss out of being a part of the attraction this year. It’s the best year ever!
We are holding our Volunteer Orientation meeting on Saturday September 12th from 7pm to 9pm. The location is the Optimist Hall in Ennismore at 551 Ennis Road. Bring friends and family as we are giving out prizes to returning volunteers who bring the most people with them.
Volunteer Opportunities
As we are non-profit, we rely quite heavily on volunteers to help us put on the event. If Hallowe'en is your thing, we'd like to talk to you! We have a reliable stable of scare-pros now, but can always use more. But acting roles are not the only jobs available. We also need a support crew to assist us in pulling off the shows. Below are some of the types of positions available.
Scare-Pros
Lead Actors: These people are selected because they have some experience with acting, theatrical production, and related skills. Usually, one would have to be with us more than one year before being given a lead role. We promote from within, so to speak, and many people have started on the crew, and have been promoted to supporting actors, and in 2008 will have a chance for a lead role.
Supporting Actors: These people have little or no previous experience but are willing to learn. They will be placed in a role that may require only minimal or no speaking, but will require costuming and some basic physical movements.
Crew
Gating; Security; Admissions; Parking; Survey-Takers; Concession Sales; Sound/Lighting; Photographer; Runners; Set & Prop Construction.
Crew may not necessarily be wearing a costume or doing any acting; however, it is important for most to fit into the theme of a haunted house in terms of appearance and attitude.
